Line‐scanned micro Raman spectroscopy using a cooled CCD imaging detector

The design of a line-scanned micro Raman spectrometer is described which uses a cooled, slow-scan, charge-coupled device imaging detector to obtain sequences of Raman spectra from a ca. 100-μm long line on a sample. The prototype design has a spatial resolution of <10 μm and a spectral resolution of 4 cm −1 . Applications of the instrument to the analysis of mixed TiO 2 powders and the components of a zircon mineral are reported
