Reseach on the building electromagnetic wave absorber mixing high-iron fly ash

The wave absorbing properties of cementitious materials blended with high-iron fly ash were studied experimentally. The results show that the high-iron fly ash particle is an effective electromagnetic wave absorber characterized by dielectric loss for cement based composite and can be used successfully in civil engineering. The reflectivity R for the composite materials is less than-5 dB in the range of 9.5~18.0 GHz,while the minimum reflectivity is lower than-11 dB.The electromagnetic characteristic of high-iron fly ash significantly correlates with the content of magnetic iron oxide. Therefore, electromagnetic loss of the high-iron fly ash can be enhanced through magnetic separation and steel slag partly incorporation.
