A novel sector partition method for phase to phase voltage synthesis control strategy of matrix converter

This paper proposes a novel sector partition strategy for matrix converter, which is based on instantaneous value synthesis scheme. The new sector partition pattern reduced the number of 3 phase output voltage sectors by half, and the new algorithm improves the efficiency of program execution. Compared to traditional method, the DSP code execute time is decreased by 23%, and the logical gates used in CPLD is reduced by 30%. The mathematical rules for sector partition and expressions for duty ratios are derived in this paper. The validity of the new sector partition method is verified by simulation and experiment results.
