The underuse of digoxin in heart failure, and approaches to appropriate use

Most of the estimated 400 000 Canadians who experience heart failure are 65 years of age or older. Heart failure is the most frequent reason for hospital admission for older adults. Admission for heart failure is a marker of disease progression, a cause of poor quality of life and a burden to the
