Learning from and about Industry for Relevant Chemistry Education

In an era of reform in science education both the content and pedagogy of science learning are being scrutinized, and new standards intending to shape meaningful, authentic, relevant, and contextualized science education are emerging. For example, the Science Education Standards (NRC, 1996) were important steps in identifying the goals for achieving scientific literacy for all students in all levels of schooling.
