The intensification of the animal production systems suggests that the future of the
production shows a decreasing number of animals, but the productivity indexes are increasing.
In this sense, the facilities that compose the finishing intensive systems of beef cattle have
greatly influenced animal performance. Therefore, there is the need to study the scientifically
based methods in architectural projects, eliminating subjective and/or intuitive forms in the
decisions. Through diagnoses of the current situation the finishing intensive systems of beef
cattle are in productive units in the northern region of Minas Gerais State. The main problems
were identified in each unit, where each unit was classified using the study of activities and the
flow of the facilities. SLP (Systematic Layout Planning) was used for data analysis, in the
elaboration conventions for identification, visualization and classification of activities and
constituent interrelations of the finishing intensive system of beef cattle.
