Injury and Repair of the Musculoskeletal Soft Tissues

ABSTRACT As part of its continuing stewardship of American orthopedics, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has published a number of texts, resource and study guides, bibliographies, and instructional course lectures for orthopedic practitioners. The latest addition to this catalog, and the first in the Academy's new symposium series, is Injury and Repair of the Musculoskeletal Soft Tissues. The book is the result of a June 1987 workshop on musculoskeletal softtissue injury and repair, sponsored conjointly by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases and the Academy. The workshop was convened to remedy present neglect of systematic investigation and study of musculoskeletal soft tissues and their injuries.
