Experimental studies of a photovoltaic module with a stationary V-shaped prism concentrator

Experimental studies of a module with a V-shaped stationary prism planar concentrator and silicon solar cells are carried out. Materials for the prism and reflective surfaces are selected. As a result of the studies under natural solar illumination, current-voltage characteristics for the module and diagrams for the radiation distribution across the output crosssection for different angles of radiation deflection and various materials of reflective surfaces are obtained. The solar-cell temperature is also determined. The results obtained agree with previously theoretical studies, which proves the adequacy of the constructed numerical models and offers a means of using them to elaborate various types of concentrators.
