The Most Precious Things Are Not Jade and Pearls...

The publication of the draft genome sequences of two subspecies of rice ( indica and japonica ) is a boon for plant biologists. In their Perspective, [Ronald and Leung][1] discuss the impact of the rice genome on our understanding of cereal crop biology and its importance for improving yields of one of the world's most important foods.
