Thin-Channel Ultrafiltration, Theoretical and Experimental Approaches

During its approximately 20 years of life, as a unit operation ultrafiltration has had quite a turbulent history. During the first 10 to 14 years, the real fact was that very much work was done, showing that almost everything was possible, but very few applications were really successful. Then came a period in which it was a general opinion that the process could in reality be used successfully for very few applications only, and now we are in a period where, during the last few years, a great number of large plants have been built and are in successful operation.
