Polarisation effects in SAW acousto-optic interactions

The polarisation dependence of the incidence-angle bandwidth of the acousto-optic interaction between an unguided, `side-entry´, optical beam and a surface acoustic wave in YZ-LiNbO3 is analysed and compared with reported experimental results.
