Spectral-efficient OOFDM system using compatible SSB modulation with a simple dual-electrode MZM

A direct-detection OOFDM transmission is experimentally demonstrated which does not need a guard-band between the carrier and the OFDM sideband. The compatible-SSB modulation is realized through a single dual-electrode MZM.
