Power Spectra of Ionospheric Scintillation

Peculiarities of the spatial power spectrum (SPS) of scattered radiation in magnetized turbulent anisotropic plasma are investigated by smooth perturbation method taking into account diffraction effects. Second order statistical moments: broadening, wave structure functions, angle-of-arrivals, scintillation index are calculated numerically for both anisotropic and power-law correlation functions of electron density fluctuations using experimental data. New features of the evaluation of a double-humped shape of the SPS for different parameter of anisotropy and angle of inclination of prolate irregularities with respect to the external magnetic field taking into account geometry of the task are revealed for the first time. The gap increases in proportion to the anisotropy factor. The power spectra and scintillation level of scattered ordinary and extraordinary waves have been calculated taking into account movement of ionospheric irregularities.
