Aleukæmic LeukÆmia with Presenting Lesions Resembling Malignant Granuloma

LEUKAEMIA is the term given to cases of leukaemia in which __the_total white cell count in the peripheral blood is not increased, though the bone marrow, glands and organs are involved by the leukaemic cells. The differential blood count may show the presence ofimmature circulating leucocytes. Malignant granuloma is the name given to a granuloma of the nose of unknown aetiology, it is named malignant because it ends fatally in the majority of cases. A survey of the medical literature shows that malignant granuloma of the nose is not rare. Walton (1959) illustrated fully 34 cases of malignant granuloma. The ulcerations are limited to the nose, face and palate, no dissemination occurs but it ends fatally from other complications such as meningitis, pneumonia, or massive haemorrhage.
