ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS THROUGH HOSPITAL'S TRAUMA REGISTRY RECORDS - Case Study of Khon Kaen, Thailand -

An analysis of traffic accidents in Khon Kaen, Thailand is presented. Its aim was to investigate the severity of traffic accidents and to identify the more hazardous intersections in this province. Accident data used in the analyses were obtained through Trauma Registry records of the Khon Kaen Hospital. Results of the analysis revealed that severity rates of those who did not use safety helmets are more pronounced than those who used safety helmets while average severity rate of drunken drivers was found to be higher than alcohol-free drivers. Among the seventy-three selected intersections, five intersections were classified as hazardous intersections. (A)
