Study on the Simulation of Trees

This paper presents some researches on the simulation of trees according to the theories of L-systems, affined manipulation and particle system. The trees are drawn using APIs of OpenGL in ArcGIS. The authors used the results of the study to the 3-D overlay display of the trees in the Poyang Lake area geographic information system, obtaining ideals result of the stereoscopic and true feeling.
