A Compatibilist Theory of Alternative Possibilities

Dans le cadre du debat sur les possibilites de l'action qui oppose les partisans du compatibilisme fort et ceux du compatibilisme faible concernant la liberte et le determinisme causal, l'A. montre que les exemples appportes par H. Frankfurt dans le sens d'une responsabilite morale de l'agent sans alternatives de l'action, ne permet pas d'etablir un compatibilisme faible. L'A. defend la theorie traditionnelle de la volonte libre fondee sur l'existence de possibilites alternatives de l'action, d'une part, et sur une approche compatibiliste du il aurait pu agir autrement
