Model for Neutral-Plane Location in Shaft in Fire

A model was proposed for determining the location of neutral-plane in a shaft with a continuous side open-ing or with both a continuous side opening and a upper opening.Based on the Klote model,the new model was sim-plified according to the temperature distribution inside the shaft in fire.A numerical study was also carried out by us-ing a computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The results prove that the new model is in good agreement with the simu-lation results.
