Design Considerations for Stages of Modular Topology for Fast Charging of Electric Vehicles

The following paper presents a study of a modular topology for EV fast charging. Considerations about the operation of the stages in different modes are made on the base of a performed state-plane analysis. Dependencies for the basic converter quantities are obtained in normalized view. As a result, expressions for calculation of the tank elements values are derived. The analytical results are verified with computer simulations in LTspice. The obtained expressions can be used for different modifications of the half-bridge CVC-SRC circuit.
