We will describe an audio output device, comprising: a speaker; an audio output circuit that is configured to configured to receive a first audio signal and for supplying the first audio signal and a second audio signal to the speaker, wherein the second audio signal comprises a higher frequency than the first audio signal; a microphone that is configured to receive a sound signal from the speaker in response to the first audio signal and the second audio signal and for converting the sound signal in a received audio signal; and a determiner configured to determine a phase of a frequency component of the received audio signal corresponding to the second audio signal and for determining a stroke of the speaker by the first audio signal based on the phase.
