Design of received and scattered powers for dipole arrays using load optimization

The only aspect of an antenna's receiving properties not available through reciprocity is on scattering by the antenna. Antenna scattering has received classical treatments [1, 2], where the scattered field expression and the associated scattering cross section are of interest under plane wave illuminations. Recently, received (absorbed) power, scattered power, and their relationships were investigated [3]. In [4], both scattered and received powers were expressed in terms of a common set of parameters — the vector wave expansion coefficients for the scattered field.
