The rollout of optical networking: LambdaXtreme® national network deployment

The LambdaXtreme® Transport System was designed to enable all-optical transmission for unprecedented distances, without regeneration and with ultra-high capacity. In this paper, we provide a detailed view into what was done before, during, and after a nationwide deployment to ensure that the network builds would be completed on time and perform as designed.
