This paper probes into products and product designs on the basis of product semantics and hopes to clarify the categories of the semantic product designs as the way we use to separate written styles from each other. Because products naturally lack the ability to recount themselves, it cannot be compared with styles such as narrations and fictions. As a result, expository design, prosized design, poetic design and discussing design are available. This paper emphasizes the prosized design whose counterpart is prose that is one of written styles we are familiar with. Just like written language, these divisions are on the basis of different aims and emphasis on the conveyance of semantics. Although any distinctions seem mechanical, they define the directions and goals of designs and make designs more clear and pertinent. As to design teaching, this kind of division could enlighten students by these concepts of styles which they are more acquainted with and make them understand profoundly the specific features and functions of product semantics
