Improving User Experience by Cooperation between User and In-Vehicle Devices toward Ubiquitous ITS

Within a ubiquitous networking environment, where users are constantly surrounded by heterogeneous devices connected to a network, comfortable and convenient in-vehicle experiences are expected in the intelligent transportation system (ITS) field by inter-connecting the user's devices and those installed in the vehicle. For example, when a user gets into a taxi, a satisfactory result could be achieved if the user utilizes the rear seat monitor with a larger display instead of a mobile phone. This paper focuses on the network composition mechanism of user and in-vehicle devices. We also show the implementation and evaluation of the proposed system, and two application examples: session mobility for real-time communication and a remote browsing.
