A Research on Metal Recycling System by Acid Dissolution-Electrodeposition System from Waste Printed Wiring Board

Now, we use many printed circuits in home electric appliances, office equipments etc. These printed circuits include in a lot of useful metallic resources. However, when these products will waste, printed circuits will waste as shureded dusts, and in the case of landfill, it is necessary to beware of dissolving out the metals. In this research, we aimed the acid dissolutionelectrodeposition system for the metalic resources contained in waste printed wiring boards. We examined the extracting condition for the main metal“copper” from the printed wiring boards by the acid solution, the electrodepositting condition of the copper from the extracted solution and the collecting condition with sedimentation of the metals from the extracted solution. From the results of experiment, we proposed the metal recycling system from waste printed wiring board. The suitable flow of collecting metals is; Washing of the printed circuits→Separation of electronic parts→Crushing→Magnetic separation→Sieving out→Extraction by acid→Electrodeposition of the extracted solution→Coprecipitation.
