The experimental verification of a computerised thermal model for buildings

The predictions of a computerised thermal model based on the implicit finite difference technique have been compared with experimental measurements on two buildings. The results show that the model is capable of the accurate prediction of the temperatures and the heat flows in a building for a range of different conditions. It has been found that in certain circumstances the predictions of the model are strongly influenced by the value chosen for the convection coefficient at internal surfaces.
