Influence of steel fiber on shear performance of reinforced self-compacting beams

Tests were carried out on 9 steel fiber-rebar reinforced self-compacting concrete beams with various fiber contents and stirrup ratios.Based on the test results,the influence of steel fiber on ultimate strength,shear strength,failure mode and shear toughness of rebar reinforced self-compacting concrete beams were analyzed.The experimental results show that steel fiber can obviously enhance the ultimate strength and shear toughness of the beam,and improve the failure mode.Empirical formula to predict the shear strength of steel fiber-rebar reinforced self-compacting concrete beams was suggested,which was coordinated with reinforced beams.The fiber enhancement factor of hooked steel fiber was suggested as 1.78.
