Mechanism of protective effect of spleen yin nourishing recipe on dendritic spines in rats

Objective To investigate the related molecular mechanism between neuroprotective effect of spleen yin nourishing recipe(Zibupiyin Reception,ZBPYR)and regulation on the morphology and structure of dendritic spines.Methods The primary cultured hippocampal neurons treated with glutamate and drug serum with ZBPYR.The morphology of dendritic spines were observed by fluorescent microscopy,and the expression of spine-associated Rap guanosine triphosphatase(GTPase) activating protein(SPAR) and serum-inducible kinase(SNK) were detected by immunofluorescent methods.Results 2% concentration of ZBPYR could protect the destroyed dendritic spines by glutamate and maintain the number and the normal morphology of dendritic spines.Conclusion ZBPYR showed effect of nervous protection,and its mechanism may be correlated with maintaining the morphology and structure of dendritic spines.
