A novel data transmission scheme for two-way multiantenna AF relay systems

This paper proposes a novel data transmission scheme for the dual-hop amplify-and-forward (AF) two-way communication systems, where two single-antenna sources exchange information by using a multi-antenna relay. By invoking double-max criterion along with data switching (DS), a novel data transmission scheme is formulated. Besides, distributed space time block codes (DSTBC) has been adopted to guarantee the same resource consumption compared with the conventional max-min, such as time slots. Simulation results show that under the same resources consumption, such as time slots and power consumption, our proposed scheme performs much better than the conventional max-min scheme and pure double-max scheme without data switching. For example, when N = 6 antennas are equipped at relay for variable gain AF, nearly 5dB gain can be obtained compared with max-min scheme when outage probability equals to 10-2, and more 8dB gain can be obtained compared with pure double-max scheme without data switching. Besides, as N increases, the gain also increases.
