The numerical analysis of ventilation and temperature fields for a bulb tubular turbine generator

A complete model of the ventilation system of a bulb tubular turbine generator is proposed for the numerical analysis of fluid field. With the calculated velocity of airflow in the ventilation system, the coefficients of heat transfer are obtained, and the stator and rotor temperature fields are calculated further. Due to different design of stator shell to prevent the erosion of which by the stream, the influence on temperature distribution are compared. Numerical results are reported to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
