A design method of MRACS with fuzzy adaptive control rules using genetic algorithms

Presents a design method for a model reference adaptive control system (MRACS) with fuzzy adaptive control rules for a time-delay system. First, the authors choose the reference model whose output response is regarded as ideal. Second, the authors discuss the stability of the control system by drawing the root locus of the characteristic equation. Third, the authors apply the control system to a plant represented by a transfer function model, and tune fuzzy adaptive control rules by means of genetic algorithms. The resulting rule set is remarkably better than a conventional hand constructed one.<<ETX>>
