Moving robot having multiple legs

A mobile robot having a plurality of legs is provided to minimize the restriction of portability and disadvantage in the energy efficiency by changing the moving type of the mobile robot according to topography. A mobile robot comprises a control unit(300) including a sensor controller(330) processing data sensed by a sensor, a main controller(310) which controls the operation of a camera, processes an image sensed by the camera and data transmitted from the sensor controller and produces the track of the robot, and a message controller(320) controlling the movement of robot using the track data transmitted from the main controller; a main body(100) accommodating the control unit; a topography sensing unit(200) which is mounted on the main body, including a camera(210) imaging the peripheral ground and senses the peripheral ground; and a plurality of legs having a plurality of joints and formed on both lateral sides of the main body in order to change the moving type of robot according to the topography sensed by the topography sensing unit.
