Consideration of Some Problems Concerning Container Terminal Handling Technology Design

Combining an engineering design example, this paper discusses several problems needing attentions concerning current container terminal handling technology design including: distance between seaside rail of container crane and apron of dock, allocation proportion among container crane, RTG and container trailer, influence of the sum of auxiliary operation time and vessel berthing and unberthing time on the annual throughput capacity of terminal, as well as the necessity of setting up of check bridge at entrance of container terminal under modern conditions.
