The orientation dependence of grain boundary motion and the formation of recrystallization textures

AbstractThe theoretical models of grain boundary motion are reviewed and compared with the experimental data on the orientation dependence of this motion. The extent that the experimental data on recrystallization textures (mainly of f.c.c. metals) can be interpreted by the orientation dependence of grain boundary motion is discussed. Resume L'auteur passe en revue les modeles theoriques de migration des joints de grains et les compare aux resultats experimentaux relatifs a l'influence de l'orientation sur cette migration. Il discute jusqu'a quel point les resultats experimentaux relatifs aux textures de recristallisation (surtout pour les metaux c.f.c.) peuvent etre interpretes en fonction de la desorientation des joints de grains.
