Prompting method and prompting device for games

An embodiment of the invention provides a prompting method and a prompting device for games. The method includes: responding to unreceived user's correct operation at pre-defined first time interval, and displaying a semi-transparent region along the outer periphery of a game interface; enabling the area of the semi-transparent region to expand to the prompt position with time; responding to unreceived user's correct operation at predefined second time interval or when the ratio of the area of the semi-transparent region to the area of the game interface reaches a predefined threshold, and giving a prompt at the prompt position. Therefore, the user in the game is provided with a progressive guide prompt and gradually helped to find the correct operation position rather than being directly given a prompt of the correct operation position, meanwhile, the user can be prompted that the game is coming to an end visually step by step, a pressing atmosphere is created for the user, the user does not need to divert attention to check the remaining time, and playability of the game is heightened.
