H_∞ State-feedback Control for Ship Rudder Roll Damping System Based on T-S Fuzzy Model

A new design method for rudder roll damping(RRD) controller is presented. Firstly according to the non-linear equation of ship rolling and bow rolling, the system modeling is done for the non-linear equation by using T-S fuzzy model. Then based on the parallel distributed compensation(PDC) principle, the design method of H∞controller based on state feedback is derived applying with Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The simulation results verify that the designed H∞fuzzy controller can effectively reduce rolling.
