Comparison of analytical and FE modeling of Vernier Hybrid Machine

Electrical machines are often used for challenging operating requirements. Some particular applications require high torque density, low speed, minimum weight and compact design. Vernier Hybrid Machines (VHMs) are known as high torque density machines for low speed applications, yet affected by low power factor. In this paper a VHM is analyzed using a computationally efficient analytical methodology whose results are compared to those obtained using Finite Element (FE) method.
