This paper mainly researched the application of TDR and FDR techniques in the intelligent maintenance of communication line. The detection and localization of communication line based on TDR and FDR techniques were detailed analyzed when disconnection fault, short-circuit fault, line bridges and other anomalies happened. Then TDR and FDR techniques were compared for user to select. After actual verification, TDR and FDR techniques can well satisfy the needs of field application. They have great application value.
