A Numerical Model of the Icelandic Demersal Fisheries

This paper presents an empirical multi-species, multi-fleet dynamic optimization model for the Icelandic demersal fisheries. The structure of the model and key empirical relationships are described. Simulation exercises are performed. Methods for searching for efficient harvesting programs are discussed. A profit maximizing harvesting program is identified and described.
