Tumor-localizing agents. X. Radioiodinated hypoglycemic agents.

This study was undertaken to find a pancreas-specific photoscanning agent. 1-(p-Iodobenzenesulfonyl)-3-n-propylurea-125I was synthesized for this purpose, since it contains a gamma-emitting radionuclide and there seemed to be a reasonable possibility that a sulfonylurea such as this might concentrate in the pancreas to a greater extent than in other tissues and organs. Tissue-distribution studies with this compound showed that it has no particular predilection for the pancreas of dogs.
