THE MAJOR ISSUES OF DRUGS, ALCOHOL AND FATIGUE IN HEAVY VEHICLE SAFETY

The VIFM Australian Fatality study shows that 4.1 per cent of drivers killed over a 10-year period tested positive to stimulants. However, 23 per cent of truck drivers tested positive and these drivers were at a very high accident risk similar to car drivers with a blood alcohol level of 0.1 to 0.15 BAC.
