THE MODELLING OF CANE TRAIN RUNNING PERFORMANCE AND STRATEGY EXPLORATION AT INVICTA MILL

The development of a new simulation for the mechanical performance of a cane train on a track of known geometry is described. The simulation also applies new parameters developed for cane trains. Various applications of the simulation at Invicta mill are described. Those applications include the braking performance of full trains, the operation of larger full trains, incident analysis, the development of a smart train and the possible replacement of diesel fuel for motive power and braking.
