Two Uncommon Amino Acids obtained from Roseothricin

Roseothricin has been hydrolysed to give two uncommon amino acids, viz., β,e-diaminocapric acid (I, β-lysine), and 2-amino-4(or 5)-(1-carboxy-1-hydroxy-2-amino)-ethyl-2-imidazoline (II, roseonine) as the sole ninhydrin positive products.
