Coil External Type Magnetorheological Damper Magnetic Circuit Design and Optimization

Designed a new type of MR damper that the coil is external, created its finite element model and simulated it by ANSYS software, checked its magnetic circuit and the magnetic flux density of the damping channel. Through the change of the structure size and the change of material magnetic permeability, reached the goal that the magnetic flux leakage was least, the magnetic flux density of damping channel was maximal and the structure was optimal. Made the force analysis with the MR damper which determined by the best scheme, the result showed that the MR damper had a large damping force output and a wide damping force adjusting range.
