The Determinants of Green Crowdfunding Project Success: Evidence from Environmental Sustainability Projects

Green growth and environmental sustainability has become a significant focus of the current world. This study aims at investigating the determinants of green crowdfunding project success (environmental sustainability crowdfunding project success). We propose a research model include three determinants, funds pledge, goal setting and project duration to predict project success. By collecting the empirical data from a green donation-based crowdfunding platform in China, we find that both goal setting and project duration have non-linear relationship with green crowdfunding project success, while funds pledge show positive relationship with green crowdfunding project success. Future research and implications are discussed.
