Theoretical Analysis and Engineering Practice of Driving of Extra-long Cold-formed Steel Sheet Pile

To solve the problems in driving of long cold-formed steel sheet piles such as difficulties in pile driving and easy distortion and deformation of piles,this paper derives,on the basis of theoretical analysis,a formula to calculate the maximum vertical length of a slender piles under its own weight and a formula to calculate the exciting force that a pile can withstand,which provides theoretical basis for selection of construction process for extra-long steel sheet piles and which has been verified in the construction of a cofferdam for a ship-repairing dock.The problems in driving of long cold-formed steel sheet piles was then solved the problems and the working efficiency was improved.
