Estimation of band-limited spectra, a reflection coefficients approach

In this paper, we study band-limited spectrum estimation under band-limiting and correlation constraints. We use an approach based on reflection coefficients, that appears to be more convenient than those based on correlation coefficients. We study the properties of reflection coefficients of band-limited spectra and derive a band-limited spectrum estimator that can be seen as an extension to the band-limited case of the classical AR maximum entropy spectrum estimator. We check that this estimator yields good results in practice. Furthermore, we briefly explain how the results derived for a symmetric interval can be extended to the cases of a non symmetric interval and of several intervals.
