The use of system level synthesis tools in education

This document describes the use of system level synthesis tools in a post college, industrial course taught over a twelve week period during the summer of 1991. The course was offered by the Engineering Design Research Center and the Carnegie Bosch Institute, both at Carnegie Mellon University. The course was intended for technical and high-level managers interested in improving their knowledge about design theory and software tools to support the design process. The course was divided into a lecture part and a project part. During the project, the participants were to design, manufacture and test a small computer for displaying blueprints.
