Synthetic aperture ultrasound imaging of XLPE insulation of underground power cables

Radar meets ultrasound; this article covers a new approach to testing underground power cable insulation in a nondestructive fashion. The possibilities and future potential of the combined use of two different imaging technologies are discussed.
