The estimation of pituitary luteinizing hormone secretion.

ABSTRACT A mathematical model for the estimation of the secretion of hypophyseal hormones incorporating hormone disappearance rate, distribution volume and serum concentration has been developed. With the aid of a computer program, the model was applied for LH to data from normal cycling women, a postmenopausal subject before and after suppressive estradiol treatment, and in a normal man before and after synthetic LRF administration. In this fashion, continuous curves of estimated secretion rates versus time were determined.
